Lupita **

I first went to Lupita guided by an American gentleman who enjoys his food and is familiar with proper South American cuisine.

The Gobenador taco (pictured above) is delicious, with juicy prawns and a warming chipotle sauce. The guacamole (pictured below) isn’t cheap, but is freshly prepared at your table with perfectly ripe Avocados. I’ve tried to emulate their recipe since, producing relatively good results*.

However, this evening was not Lupita’s finest. The host on the door was rude and very dismissive when we asked about our table. In other restaurants they might provide a free drink or maybe some tortillas if they had caused a delay. Instead, he did his very best to make us feel unwelcome. When we were finally seated, we noted that there were empty tables available, making the delay even less forgivable.
