I don’t really like fruit salads, but there was fruit to use up and a desire for a healthy breakfast. In a bowl, I chopped up a ripe banana, a pink lady apple, and added blueberries and pomegranate seeds, along with clementine segments. I topped this with a dollop of fat-free plain yoghurt and a few slivers of almond.
It was very good, and very filling: an excellent way to start the day, although a little more time-consuming than a bowl of cereal! I think it’s something about the vague mushyness that results from sitting the fruit in juices or syrup: I like my apples crunchy, and my bananas soft but not disolving!
Apples in fruit salad are just wrong. This seems to be a European thing, and not one of which I can approve!
Ceci n’est pas une fruit salad, Jackie…
