Ask is advertising a new menu, so I went there for lunch with a friend to try some of their dishes. I picked polpette al forno (“baked in traditional stone ovens”). It was described as a “cheeky” little Milanese, with beef meatballs, garlic, fire-roasted peppers, caramelized onions, chillis, pomodoro sauce, all with penne pasta and melted cheese. It’s a good dish with lots going on taste-wise, and very satisfying. My friend was off carbohydrates, so chose gamberi al forno, marinated tiger prawns with tomato, chilli and grana padanos cheese. It was only a starter dish, but two of them made a good lunch. We drank Montepulciano wine with the food.
