How to use those berries?

They’re on the hedge just yards from my Normandy house, and I guess they’re rose hips. They could just be hawthorn berries, or maybe a mixture of both; it’s certainly a mixed hedge. It seems a pity not to use them, since both are edible and regarded as excellent sources of vitamins. Rose hips are very rich in vitamin C, but also have A, D and E. Hawthorn berries have tannins and flavonoids. I found recipes for rose hip syrup or rose hip jelly that might be worth a try, or there’s rose hip wine, whose recipes seem to call for raisins or sultanas and sugar to do most of the work. The same is true of hawthorn berry wine. I might collect some berries next time I go and see what I can do with them. They certainly look luscious enough…
